My Favorite Apps: 1Password

1Password: For Mac or Windows, this is an application you should have! It not only stores your passwords, but you can also store software registration information with all the serial numbers, contact info, copies of receipts and more, plus your ID cards – all the family Driver License, SSN card info, travel cards, passports, etc. I have the desktop version and the iOS version which sync beautifully with my iPad and iPhone so I always have my info on the go – or just downstairs on the sofa when I don’t want to run all the way upstairs to the desktop to grab some info. There is a 30-day free trial to test it out, and it adds a small button to your browser to login to your saved sites automatically – you’ve got to try it out to see what I mean – you will love it!

My Favorite Apps

I just added a new Page called My Favorite Apps that I will be adding to and updating over time – giving you a list of Must Have or at least Must Check Out apps for your Mac! And all you Windows people – this may be just what you need to switch over to the Dark Side… 😉

Application Bundle Deals – AppSumo

AppSumo has rotating bundle deals available for a short time, but usually include a variety of applications at an incredible savings. Check back often, or sign up for their email to be notified of the latest Sumo bundle deal!

I love this application! I run it a couple times a week to clear log files, cache, broken preference files and more. You will definitely want to download the free trial on this one.

ForkLift 2

I have tried several FTP applications and this is my favorite. ForkLift 2 gives you the option of multiple windows/tabs, and multiple transfers, with the feeling of the Finder window. Updates are frequent, and they are quick to respond to request for assistance if something isn’t quite working right – free download, try it!

So this is what I have for now – I always look forward to the emails from AppSumo for their latest deal, and I use CleanMyMac a few times a week, and ForkLift 2 daily – check them out!

New Templates – Alphabet Photography Templates

I had a recent request to create some 10×20″ templates like the Alphabet Photography posters – so I created templates for 4-Letter through 8-Letter templates, available individually as well as a bundle.

Contact me if you would like this same template with a different number of letters, or on a different canvas size. The posters are minimalistic and simple, and so are the templates, but you can easily modify, add or subtract from them, insert your images, and send to your favorite printer.

The 4-Letter Name Template photo spaces are sized for 4×6″ photos – each additional letter decreases the size of the letter space a little, but is in the same proportion as the 4×6″ photo – your photo will be the same proportion as the standard 4×6″ print, but at a slightly smaller percentage, so don’t worry about losing something. You can always crop it differently too – that’s the fun of templates, it’s just a starting board!

Children Are So Quick

This is from another email I received and I thought it was so cute!

LOUIS:           Because George still had the axe in his hand….

TEACHER:    Now, Simon, tell me frankly, do you say prayers before eating?
SIMON:         No sir, I don’t have to, my Mom is a good cook.

TEACHER:       Clyde, your composition on ‘My Dog’ is exactly the same as your brother’s.. Did you copy his?
CLYDE  :         No, sir. It’s the same dog.
(Who wouldn’t want to adopt this kid!!!)

TEACHER:    Harold, what do you call a person who keeps on talking when people are no longer interested?
HAROLD:     A teacher

Twin Black & White Portraits of Steve Jobs

I saw this recently – artist Charis Tsevis created a white on white version for Italian magazine Panorama Economy, and then created a black on black version using Apple products – very creative, don’t you think? The artist’s website is here, and his flickr page is here, check it out.
