2012 Calendar Templates

The 2012 Calendar Templates are now available! I have updated the templates – added a little pop of color, made the date boxes a little smaller to allow the background to show more, and removed the title and year black boxes. Available separately or as a bundled package, each version (Clean and Scattered) comes in both PSD and TIF with all 12 months in one file, as well as individual PSE-friendly templates with months separate and no folders – both PSE and TIF Ungrouped – all in one folder.

Check them out below – images linked.

Retro Christmas – A Jump Start on the Holidays

For those of you that have Holiday photos to scrap from previous years, or want an early start on this year’s Holiday projects, I present to you Retro Christmas. Don’t let the title (and colors) to deceive you – you can easily incorporate it into other holidays or color palettes with a little modification.

Both Retro and Vintage-inspired, my goal was to make this appealing to different styles, and different photos, and I hope you’ll be pleased with the result. Several coordinating pieces are available – check them all out below (linked).

New Photoshop Tool

I came across guideguide recently and I’ve been playing with it – I used it to create my latest template – the Mosaic Tile – I set my rows, columns and gutters, created and filled the first box, then went about duplicating and placing based on the guides for an almost perfect spacing. While this is still the beta version, it works pretty well for basic guidelines and I’m anxiously waiting for his future updates to add a ‘clear all guides’ function, saving guide presets, and hopefully a more advanced version of placing guides. I am still searching for that offset function that I love so much in AutoCAD! But for now, if you have Photoshop CS4 or CS5 you should check it out and see what guideguide can do for you!

New Paper Scraps Templates & Parisian Daydreams Collection

A set of 7 paper scraps templates. I have seen several paper scraps in use recently and wanted to create a set to use over and over again. Initially created in Illustrator and not on any geographic planes, these uneven lines will give the effect of quick cutting to create the scraps, such as in real life.

And the Parisian Daydreams Collection – includes a kit, damaged papers, stacked papers, cardboard styles, paper styles, and the retired Daydreams CU Bundle. This doodle-fun kit will have you daydreaming of Paris in no time! Containing 22 solid and patterned papers at 12×12″ 300 dpi, an alpha set, and 50 elements – alpha and elements saved at 300 dpi in PNG format.

Damaged Papers: The Papers from the Parisian Daydreams Kit in beautiful worn & torn and damaged form – 22 solid and patterned papers created at 300 dpi and saved in 12×12″ PNG format. These papers are not included in the kit, these were created as a coordinating product.

Stacked Papers: A set of 4 stacked papers from the Parisian Daydreams Kit – including both regular and damaged papers, they are created at 300 dpi and saved in 12×12″ JPG format, each including multiple papers; some with elements. These papers are not included in the kit, these were created as a coordinating product.

A set of 22 paper styles made from the Parisian Daydreams Papers.
A set of 22 cardboard styles made from the Parisian Daydreams Papers.

Also available as a Bundle without the Commercial Use Bundle – all on sale through Sunday May 22nd.

FYI – Good News for GIMP Users and Templates

I had an inquiry from a GIMP user to see if my templates would work in GIMP. As I don’t have the program myself and haven’t heard from anyone about this before, I quickly put a test layered template together with a locked background layer, a grey box layer, and a text layer and sent it to her to try out – and I sent it over in both PSD and TIF file versions. She reported back that the test template works perfectly – and she is able to open the layered PSD file in GIMP and then needs to save it as an XCF file – the GIMP file extension, but says it works perfectly for her.

GIMP is a free source software that is used as an alternative to Photoshop, PSE and PSP. Again, I have never used it and I don’t know what its limitations are, strengths, weaknesses, etc. but it appears to work on both Windows and Mac platforms among others and you can read more about it here.

Shoppe Upgrade

I’ve been doing a shoppe upgrade the past couple of days, and I believe everything is in working order – successful payment and checkout was completed this morning, and the download keys are working correctly. And I know there have been issues with X-Cart and Internet Explorer – I don’t know if this newer version of X-Cart will fix the IE issues {I’m hoping but I’m not sure} – but I do know that X-Cart works well with Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome, so definitely try one of those if you are using Internet Explorer and are having issues.

I’m still working the bugs out and trying to make sure everything is correct – thank you for your patience – and I’ll have to see what I can do to pretty it up. Any problems, let me know. Otherwise, I will be adding several new products later tonight, so check back!
