Fun Facts – Nutrition

I’ve been spending more time on the elliptical lately, which allows me to go through old magazines and get caught up. I found some fun facts on nutrition, and even though the data isn’t recent {as of today} I think it’s still fairly relevant and could be some good information to you.

SLEEP BETTER
“Recent research shows that people who eat foods high in fat throughout the day toss and turn more at night and have less REM sleep than those who consume less fat. And the fat-sleep connection is closely tied to dinner – if you eat well during the day but not at night, you may still have trouble sleeping.”

How to Use My ATC Collage Sheet Templates

I’ve had a couple people ask how to use my ATC Collage Sheet Templates in the past couple weeks and I’ve written a tutorial showcasing the 1″ Circle ATC Template, but will apply to any of my ATC Templates, and really any of my Templates, or any layered PSD and/or TIF file. I’ve also had questions about the templates being used in other programs such as PSP and GIMP – as long as your software program can open layered PSD or layered TIF files you should be able to use them. You can download the tutorial here, and it was written for the 1″ circles templates in the Bundle shown below. And you can grab a test template here – a simple layered template that has a locked background layer, a grey box for images, and a text layer; if your software can modify this template then any of the larger templates (many more layers) will work for you as well. I also have one more set of the 2.5×3.5 sized templates that I want to release soon – it is the more common size, and I have more integrated into that template set so I need to look at it and get it ready for the public as opposed to just for me, but I will have that released for you soon, most likely this week! As always, let me know if you are looking for something specific or have any questions.

P.S. I have received a question about how to use the Digital Stamps and Brushes – that is a whole big can of opportunities and will try to write some more on that soon, but for a very brief answer – they can be used digitally on the normal setting or a modified layer setting such as overlay, soften, multiply, etc. to enhance digital papers and elements. Use them for invitations, blog and web design, use them for printed paper work, use them on silk screen projects, iron-on transfers, create stickers out of them… the possibilities are truly endless.

Happy New Year!

I received this in an email and thought it was so cute I wanted to share. The photos are really cute but don’t forget to read each phrase and think about how it pertains to you and not just these cuties ;0 – Happy New Year!

May you always make the right moves…

May your cup runneth over with love…

May you always find shelter from any storm…

May you remain good looking and looking good…

May you find the perfect diet for your soul…

And may your friends always bring you joy…

Nirvana Exhibit

Growing up in Seattle, Coffee and Grunge is pretty much in your blood, so I was so excited to hear about the new Nirvana exhibit coming to the EMP in April 2011 for two years! Featuring Cobain’s paintings from high school, reel-to-reel tapes with early recordings, handwritten lyrics, numerous instruments – some broken on stage, Cobain’s famous yellow cardigan, plus candid interviews from friends and family. And I hear the museum will also have a section for the public to record their memories which will eventually be turned into a film shown at the museum at a later date.

Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses
Nirvana singer, songwriter and guitarist Kurt Cobain “was a visionary artist who touched people all over the world,” said Krist Novoselic, the band’s bassist and co-founder. “It’s great that there will soon be a collection that celebrates that contribution to music and culture. There’s a story with Nirvana at its center, but it’s a story that also includes the many people, bands and institutions that make up a music community. The show is a celebration of Northwest music.”

More than two years in the making, Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses features 200 artifacts tied to the band and the independent punk rock music community that nurtured it.

Find the EMP Press Release here – and plan to see this on your next trip to Seattle!
